Description

An original and very 1st press of FILLMORE EAST. Matrix A1/B1/A1/B3. The red & plum is the earliest iteration you can find in the UK. The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in a USA printed heavy-card cover [1841 Broadway]. These early 1st pressings are ALWAYS founds in a USA 1st issue cover. Note the small sticker top right covering up the USA catalogue number with the UK number. There's a really neat paste-over done in the interior with a nice textured finish. Classy! 
Vinyl (Ex+/Ex+) A beautiful copy and has only seen light use. Under close inspection just a couple of lightest marks per side - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an EXCELLENT+ level of playback. Don't under estimate a grading level like this on a properly rare record. This copy would be extremely difficult to re-source. I, for one, have never heard this live title play better on ANY copy - period. And that is a high accolade. Perfectly clean all the way through. And believe me there are plenty of low-key moments. Slow builds & fade-outs. Plenty of room for background to emerge. And this copy is clean as a whistle from start to finish. At worst - a couple of crackles in a couple of isolated spots per side. Worth noting too that this is a classic live title. The live audio has been recorded to a very high standard [ in my opinion]. From a copy like this you can get to witness first hand - just how darn good it is. You'd have a real tough time just equalling the audio on offer here. FINAL UPGRADE.
Cover (Vg+) Not quite up to the standard of the vinyl - but hey...more than respectable. Front and rear look really nice without the surface wear that is commonly found. The interior is really superb with a tiny patch of wear down in bottom left. Bit of edge wear in places - nothing excessive. Spine looks good with 80% of text legible - expect a bit of wear though. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity in part thanks to the heavy card employed in manufacture. PLEASE NOTE - what looks like a little fire starting down in the bottom right corner [front]...is just a light aberration.
