BEATLES LP SGT PEPPER. 1 UK MONO RARE MONO DECCA PRESSING.
THE BEATLES- 'SGT PEPPERS LONELY HEARTS CLUB BAND' UK MONO ORIGINAL - PRESSED BY DECCA!!! VERY RARE INDEED!!!
Starting on auction here is a HUGELY RARE Beatles record, possibly one of only a VERY limited number to exist, a MONO DECCA PRESSING of the Beatles from 1967, SGT PEPPERS LONELY HEARTS CLUB BAND!!! Decca contract pressings are characterised by the circular groove that is indented 1.3cm from the perimeter of the outside of the label, and by the fact that there are NO stamper letters at the 3 O CLOCK clock position to the matrix number. This particular copy of Sgt Peppers bears the Decca circular indentation on BOTH sides of the label bears NO STAMPER LETTERS OR NUMBERS AT 3 O CLOCK TO THE MATRIX NUMBER!!! ONLY CONTRACT PRESSINGS HAVE NO STAMPER LETTERS AT THIS POSITION!!! The only two things present on BOTH sides of the run out groove of this record is the matrix number the matrix numbers are as follows; side one: XEX 637-1 and side two- XEX 638-1,
These pressings have been accounted for in certain titles from the Beatles catalogue, perhaps the most well known of these was is in their first two albums, (Please Please me, and With The Beatles) and in very rare export issues (The Beatles, Abbey Road, Let it be), BUT NEVER HAS SUCH A PRESSING EVEN BEEN DOCUMENTED OR ACCOUNTED FOR IN THIS ALBUM!!
In the gatefold in the top left corner is a stamp of the shop that sold the LP. Although the stamp is difficult to read, it reads "Universal Record Mart Jamaica Kingston B.W.I." See the attached photos for this.
The vinyl shows very light traces of use, small hair lines, but has hardly any effect on the quality.
Played the album and the sound was excellent. In the background a very light, not disturbing, noise and an occasional crack. It was nice music to listen to again. The needle didn't jump, it continued playing fine. Also with the hair lines there was hardly anything to hear
The foldable LP sleeve has some small folds on the edges, see the photo.
The main sleeve is its correct Laminated Garrod & Lofthouse parlophone gatefold flipback sleeve, and is grading as being in VERY GOOD condition. Some of the usual general age wear showing, but nothing severe at all, rubbing to the corners and very slight fading perhaps, but is all in all solid with NO tears/ splits etc. No pen marks
Thisis an EXTREMELY RARE and HIGHLY UNIQUE pressing of this album, - REMEMBER this could be the ONLY opportunity to own such a MASSIVELY rare Beatles lp as this, Decca pressings in this album are basically completely UNHEARD of in this album!!!! Thanks for looking and GOOD LUCK!!!
