BEATLES UK – With the Beatles LP, unusual 5 / 7 matrix, transitional darker, but clearer sleeve photo.

PMC 1206 – Mono black and yellow Parlophone labels.

A UK album in original condition, featuring:

1. the front sleeve photo shows a transitional image as the front photo image is still very dark but the image is not as ‘grainy’ as the very early sleeves. Later on the printers of the sleeve attempted to lighten up the photo image as it was considered to be too dark, attempts were also made to try and make the photo image somewhat clearer. See the comparison photo I have taken of the close up of the front of the sleeve. The image to the left is of the regular, lighter sleeve image, the image to the right is the sleeve for sale where the photo image is still very much darker but the image is clearer, ie not as ‘grainy’ in appearance than the very early dark / grainy sleeves. 

2. an unusual, five matrix, the matrix numbers are normally configured as 1, 1 or 2, 2 etc but this record has a 5 / 7 matrix !, the 5 matrix is very difficult to find, but to have a 5 / 7 matrix is unusual !,

3. side one of the record label has a more unusual ‘M T’ tax code embossed onto it,

4. the rear of the sleeve has the later corrected spelling of ‘got a’ for the track ‘You really got a hold on me’.

CONDITION:

THE MAIN SLEEVE: is in excellent condition, the front has an excellent glossy laminate. The rear for the sleeve has remained clean for its age. The spine is in excellent condition and has remained a good fresh white in colour, all the text on the spine is clear to read. The rear of the sleeve has the period tri flipback design. There are NO tears, pen writing, stickers or sticker residue on the sleeve.

THE INNER SLEEVE: is in excellent condition and is the original ‘Use Emitex’ sleeve. Theres NO pen writing, tears, splits, stickers or sticker residue to the sleeve. There are some light age related marks to the sleeve.

THE VINYL: is in excellent condition. The vinyl has remained very dark and glossy and is made from the period, thick, heavy vinyl.

The matrix are:  XEX  447 – 5 N  (a rare matrix) and  XEX  448 – 7 N, a very unusual combination !

The Mother / Stampers are:  ‘1  T M ’ and   ‘2  G P ’.

THE AUDIO: is excellent++, a near perfect audio that plays with virtually no crackle, the vinyl lays flat on the turntable.

THE LABELS: are in excellent condition, the letters ‘M T’ are embossed around the spindle hole on side one. The songs publishing credit for the track ‘Money’ is ‘Dominion / Belinda’, The labels are free from any pen writing, stickers or sticker residue.

PACKING  -  ALL RECORDS ARE POSTED WITH MULTI LAYERED CARD STIFFENERS FOR PROTECTION.BEFORE POSTING, THE RECORD IS REMOVED FROM THE RECORDS ORIGINAL INNER AND OUTER SLEEVES, THE RECORD IS THEN PUT INTO A SECOND PAPER INNER SLEEVE TO MINIMISE ANY DAMAGE THAT MAY OCCUR WHILE IN TRANSIT. THE RECORD / SLEEVES ARE THEN PUT INTO A NEW PLASTIC SLEEVE FOR FURTHER PROTECTION.
