ART HODES AND HIS CHICAGOANS, "The Best In Two Beat", Blue Note Records, Mono; Cover is VG+ to VG++ with neatly scotch taped seam splits. LP is EX!!! Played very well on the Magnavox Console!!! It had a small minor scratch at the middle of last song side 2. , Labels are BEAUTIFUL!!. This scarce Blue Note lp from 1950 is quite nice!!!, blue and white label with 767 Lexington Ave. NYC on the labels and at the bottom of the back cover.. 8 tracks recorded in NYC in 1944, deep groove. The group is referred to as: Art Hodes And His Chicagoans. Leader, Art Hodes, piano; Ray Conniff, trombone; Rod Cless, clarinet; Jack Bland, guitar; Bob Haggart, bass ( on 4 tracks ); Sid Jacobs, bass (on 4 tracks); Danny Alvin, drums. Tunes by W.C.Handy, Jelly Roll Morton, Hodes and others. A copy in terrible condition just sold for $30.99 on Ebay. I am offering this far superior copy for only $38.00 The disc will be shipped in an Generic 78 sleeve. this sleeve will not fit in the cover as it originally was in a plastic 10" record bag which was slightly smaller.
