Description
A beautiful piece of history. This is a MINT original first press *MONO* of BOB DYLAN's classic double LP BLONDE ON BLONDE (celebrating the 50th anniversary of its release this very month). The gatefold sleeve contains the original nine-photo layout, which featured international '60s film star CLAUDIA CARDINALE (this layout was re-designed removing that and one other photo when BLONDE ON BLONDE was re-pressed by Columbia in 1968). Both records (all four sides) are MINT (or NM if that is the highest grade you consider for an unsealed record) and as glossy, shining and perfect as the day they were pressed in 1966, and there are ***no spindle marks*** on any of the four sides either (please see photos). I suspect that this copy was, in fact, sealed during most of its lifespan, and only taken out recently by an extremely cautious and careful owner. The original Columbia "round bottom" poly/plastic inner sleeves (which were used from 1963 - 1967) have been replaced by deluxe, secure inner sleeves. The gatefold sleeve itself is NEAR MINT (please see photos) - absolutely beautiful with ***no ringwear***, etc. Matrix numbers are as follows: Side One: XLP113761-2J Side Two: XLP113762-3D Side Three: XLP113763-4C Side Four: XLP113764-2D I carefully played the record *exactly once* in order to confirm that it is a perfect pressing, and it is: FLAWLESS. The very best that Dylan's BLONDE ON BLONDE will ever sound!
