Vinyl = NM, looks un played, no spindle marks, no wear, vinyl nearly perfect only the faintest couple of paper scuffs from inner sleeve only visible under strong light. Plays perfectly, as new, no static or flaws whatsoever and is in really beautiful shape indeed. Edges of record still feel sharp to the touch as if just pressed. For a 50 year old record this has certainly been looked after extremely well and looks as though it was probably stored carefully away for decades. The labels are pristine and the shocking pink colour is as if the labels were printed yesterday, absolutely fantastic.
Outer Sleeve = NM-, laminated flip back sleeve almost perfect only a couple of tiny little creases in front cover laminate. No noticeable edge or corner wear. The only minor defect is a tiny tear 5mm or so at the top middle open end of the reverse cover probably from storage or sticky tape that was often applied to LPs in transporting, although there is no tape residue visible at all. I have taken a photo of the small tear on the back cover for which which I have downgraded the Outer sleeve from NM to NM- as is indeed deservedly much better than EX.. The front cover of sleeve does show the indentation of the Vinyl due to age and storage but no ring wear and laminate perfectly intact, and this type of sleeve fits Vinyl very snugly so not surprising that 50years of storage have cause this indentation, which is visible in the photo of front cover. The rear of cover has 4/11 written in what looks like red felt tip on top and also has 2 original stamps applied, a Mecolico tax stamp and a Chappell Control Group Stamp.
Inner sleeve =EX, Original paper sleeve has slight tear on top seam (2.5 inch), and bottom corner of sleeve folded over.
This is a brilliant and stunning copy of this sought after Mod LP, I have never seen another version in such good condition and is graded carefully and a true NM grading for Vinyl and NM- for Sleeve.
Vinyl and Sleeve viewed under natural daylight and strong artificial light and each side played through by myself once with New Shure White label Stylus using Studio Monitors to check sound quality, which in this case is flawless and perfect.
Senators 'She's A Mod' Recorded at Hollick & Taylor Studios in Birmingham in 1964. The first ever recording to be released featuring the 16 year old drummer John Bonham, future drummer for Rock legends Led Zeppelin.
Brum Beat LP was released on Dial Records, a label set up by 24 year old London-based David Gooch with the intent to promote undiscovered British talent.
