Here is an absolute holy grail for avant-garde rock collectors: a stunning, archival-grade archive copy of Captain Beefheart’s 1969 masterpiece, Trout Mask Replica.
This is not a modern reissue, a digital remaster, or a thrashed college-radio copy. This is a true 1969 US First Pressing from the legendary Pitman, New Jersey plant, complete with the incredibly rare, original 6-page foldout lyric booklet and printed inner sleeves.
Finding both discs in flawless, Near Mint to Mint condition after more than five decades is an absolute anomaly. Even the original sleeves are in incredible shape with no splits. This is an album where disc one has sides 1 & 4, while disc 2 has sides 3 & 4.
