\ Thee ORIGINAL 1967 FUZZ GARAGE MONSTER!!!
THE LITTER
DISTORTIONS
\ USA - WARWICK - WM-671A
Quite RARE 1967 first printing on the local Minnesota WARWICK label -- legendary first album by THE LITTER. Appropriately titled "DISTORTIONS," with a winning formula and easily in the top class of sixties rock collectibles -- delivering a lethal dose of garage fuzz rocking mayhem wrapped up in scorching tight tunes up and down both sides...
From the intro, Action Woman is a flame thrower garage punk single with snarling vocals and one of the great extended guitar solos courtesy of Bill Strandlof. Many feel this single was one of rock n roll’s finest ever and quite possibly Minnesota’s answer to the Stones’ Satisfaction. At this point the group were asked to record an album, since Action Woman enjoyed modest local success. Bill Strandlof recorded a great conventional garage track in Soul Searching (another Kendrick original) before he was replaced with Zippy Caplan.
"Distortions" was christened the album title after the buzzing guitar sounds emblazoned on each cut! The Litter's Distortions album from 1967 is as much a cornerstone of any '60s punk collection as Here Are the Sonics!!! or Black Monk Time. Kicking off with the smack-you-in-the-face fuzz of the all-time classic "Action Woman," the non-stop raving album cut to pieces British Invasion covers -- like fellow Minnesotan Paul Bunyan hacking trees -- and scorches them in a bonfire that climaxes with a fierce rendering of "I'm A Man." Your collection already has a space reserved for this ...

CONDITION: The Cover: thick styled 'garage' cover, and a hard one to grade because our photo will most certainly not pick up the fact that the front cover had light shelf wear that the previous owner/genius colored in with a black marker...even though well done and not initially, not noticable, there is a tell tale 'shine' with light reflection in areas. Will call it VG even though it may appear VG++ or so, especially with the outer plastic sleeve on... The back cover with spiral track listing over group cover is rather clean VG++ and untouched ...there are no split seams and overall 'solid' (no soft areas) ...
The Vinyl: yet again a hard one to grade because there are shallow little fine hair scuffs, but nothing near, or even close to deep, so while looks VG(+), the deep groove pressing play graded strong VG++ or even better really, vastly excellent audio. Overall this is a strong enjoyable listener copy with no groove wear, very little ticks or anything problematic in the playback. Obvious keeper copy for many....as there was only 2000 pressed in '66 and originals are long gone...and $$$expensive when....
A cool addition to anyone's music library!
