Description

For sale here is a super copy of Pink Floyds iconic "Dark side of the moon" album. Comes with all the attributes of an original first UK pressing. Blue tinted gatefold cover. Solid blue triangle on the labels. Matrices are A2 and B2. Black poly lined inner sleeve. Both posters. Both postcard/stickers.
Suffice to say that these appear quite regularly on eBay, and are not quite as "rare" as some people like to claim! What is very unusual to find, is a copy with the vinyl in exceptional condition like this copy. The only real signs of it being played  are some spindle trails on the labels. No marks worthy of note. I will give a detailed description of each part, but please note, this is a visual assessment only.
The cover:                  Original and genuine blue tint to the cover. Very different to the black covers of later issues. Left and right hand sides are open. Light colour loss due to shelf wear on top and bottom edges. Spine colour almost perfect. Some light feathering to lead edges. Slight bumps to leading edge corners resulting in colour loss. Nothing serious here, a very solid cover. The front lower left side has 2 small scratches that have removed some colour, both can be felt, but are not deep. Next to the scratches is a very small mark with colour loss, but cannot be felt. Inner gatefold is about as clean as you could find. No issues. Rear cover has slight traces of ring-wear starting, but as the vinyl is now stored outside of the cover, will not get any more noticeable. One tiny scratch towards the lead edge with some colour loss. Conservative grading (and I do mean conservative) is a healthy VG+. I would expect the winner to be pretty pleased with this cover and its grading.
Inner sleeve:                      Really nice example of the black poly line inner. No splits, tears or damage of any kind. Just light creasing that is minimal considering its age. Correct white printed cat numbers and made in Great Britain present of course. I grade the inner sleeve as a strong Ex.
Posters:             Both posters are present. Both are in super condition with just the fold marks present. No pin holes. No blue tack. No splits, rips, tears or issues. I grade both posters as Ex.
Postcard/stickers:                              Both postcards are present. Both unused. No pin holes, sticky tape, blue tack. The only issues to both are a crease where they have inside the gatefold "hinge". The darker of the 2 has one very small crease just to one corner. The lighter one has a crease running top to bottom at an angle, to the right side of the card. Both cards have "Fasprint permanent" on the reverse with 45 degree brown lines indicating where to peel of the backing. A great pair of cards. I grade these at VG+ (lighter one) and Ex (darker one).
The labels:                  The iconic solid blue prism labels are in good shape. There are spindle trails to both sides and the odd spot here and there. No rips or stains. To be safe because of the spindle marks..... I grade the labels as VG+.
The vinyl:                Really the vinyl is the cream of this copy. As this is only a visual based assessment, I cannot categorically rule out any issues when played. However, due to the extremely clean vinyl, I find it hard to believe there would be any issues. I can see no marks of note of any kind. the vinyl has a depth of shine and a gorgeous black lustre. I have been lucky enough to own several of the first pressings over many years of collecting, but never have I seen one as clean as this. I seriously can find no faults to mention whatsoever. As this is a visual appraisal only, I grade as a solid Ex+.
As a complete and original first UK pressing with the A2 and B2 matrix numbers, correct blue tinged cover, both posters and stickers, I really have to grade overall as excellent. Somebody is going to be very happy!!
I will post overseas, although I have had issues in the past from both Russia and Italy. I have listed the price for UK postage only. If an overseas ebayer wants this, please contact me before bidding to discuss postal options. I DO NOT make anything on the postage. I charge the exact cost (often less) that I pay. I DO NOT charge for packing materials and I try to use recycled packing anyway.  I also dress all my albums in a brand new heavyweight plastic cover and a brand new anti-static inner sleeve. All vinyl is packed outside of the cover and 2 stiffeners are used in transit. I have sold many valuable vinyls over the years and am often credited with Fort Knox style packing. Please bid with peace of mind that what you see is what you get.
If you have any questions, require extra photos (you can only upload 12 on here), please just ask. Album will be posted same day I receive the funds if early enough, or at worst the next day. I post special delivery (next day before 4pm) with full insurance to cover total costs in case of damage If there are any issues then a return is readily available. I do not expect one!

On 02-May-21 at 16:00:28 BST, seller added the following information:

If the cost of postage and insurance is less than my quoted figure of £8.50 for special next day delivery, I will refund the winner the difference as soon as I have the exact figure. This is my normal policy.

I like to send next day delivery as it stops the valuable album from kicking around in a post office or delivery depot as much as possible to keep the album as safe and secure as possible.
If this album is won by an overseas buyer who has not contacted me prior to bidding, I will cancel the sale and offer the album to the next highest bidder.
