Description

An original 1st press of SANE on the UK RCA label from '73. Matrix 3T/3T - 1st cut. Note how the labels are correct for very 1st issue - shiny orange with 'stereo' at 12 o'clock. These early copies are heavy pressed and sound fab! The vinyl comes housed in an original very 1st issue gatefold cover. Also included is the original heavy-card inner sleeve. We will ship in a poly-lined inner sleeve dated to spring 1973. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete. 
Vinyl (Ex/Ex+) In super condition and has only seen light careful use. Under close inspection I can only make out a couple of light marks per side - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT+ level of playback with a couple of deviations. Intros and inbetweens are lovely and quiet and the audio comes across with perfect clarity. A players copy - if you need to hear you Bowie as it would have done in '73 you could do a lot worse than pick up this copy. The original RCA copies did a fantastic of delivering Bowie's magic to the masses. What you need, however, is a copy that has been take care of. And this is that copy! I'm picking up very little else other than pure clean sound. Even in the quieter moments this copy plays clean...and consistently clean. 'Time' is difficult to find playing clean in that quiet intro - but this example manages it with ease. All I could pick out were a couple of minor crackles here and there during 'LGS'  - not up front .. just minor and in the background. There's one solitary tick in the opening moments of 'Prettiest Star'. A marvellous rendition from start to finish - highly recommended.
Cover (Ex-) Difficult to find in top level condition as is pretty obvious from a brief look at other examples on-line. These unlaminated white background covers were a nightmare to keep clean. But someone's taken great care with this one and it has survived into the 2020's in rather impressive condition. Back and front seem to have largely escaped the worst of the usual ageing/foxing you tend to find. There's a grubby patch and a couple of indentations on the rear, and just the slightest wear at the top of the front - but nothing unsightly. The interior is in excellent condition with only lightest signs of handling. Edge wear is minor and the opening still sharp. The spine is 100% intact - very nice. Overall thanks to the heavy-card employed in manufacture means this cover retains all of it original rigidity.
