Description
This is an auction for an ORIGINAL copy of the 1959/1964 Gold Standard Series single Hound Dog / Don't Be Cruel released in the USA.
The record itself (447-0608 Dog On Top Original 1959 ist gss issue)is in VERY GOOD+ condition and retains some of it's natural sheen.
There are a few visible marks/scratches(nothing too deep or drastic though).
This would grade higher, however the labels have a name written on the Don't be Cruel side (blending into the background) and a sticker and label damage on the Hound Dog side(see photos)
The picture sleeve is much sought after and is ONLY in GOOD+ condition.
This sleeve is over 49 years old and although it has NO WRITING there are many flaws which stop this rarity from grading higher!
The front has ringwear,creases and what i believe to be water damage. In addition to this both sides have come unglued.
The rear of the sleeve has some part missing from where i think this may have been stuck to something else(see photos)
THIS WILL ONLY SERVE AS AN AFFORDABLE COLLECTION FILLER UNTIL THAT MINT $300 SLEEVE COMES ALONG!!!!!!!
The only things that stop this from grading higher is a some ringwear/creases, discolouration and wear to the top opener.
That all said , THIS REALLY IS QUITE A RARITY and A HARD ONE TO FIND!!
Overall 2 years ago this was still valued at $100(£65) , so i guess it must now be at least £70.
I will start this AT WAY UNDER THAT!!!!!
