Description
This is an auction for an ORIGINAL copy of the 1956 release of Hound Dog / Don't Be Cruel released in the USA.
The record itself (47-6604 )is in EXCELLENT- / VERY GOOD+ condition and retains a lot of it's natural sheen .
There are a few light marks/scratches(nothing too deep or drastic).
The labels are CLEAN and have NO WRITING , There is some non sticky residue from where a label has been removed on one side!!!
This is the RARER issue WITH THE HORIZONTAL LINE. (you could say that this is the equivilant of the U.K HMV Gold lettering release)
The picture sleeve is much sought after and was listed in a U.S guide book back in 2008 as $35 in the condition it is in now(which i would say is ONLY in VERY GOOD )for the sleeve alone!!!
This was the 1st issued picture sleeve issued for an Elvis release and has 2 GREAT photos (see photos)
THIS IS THE RELEASE WITH HOUND DOG ON TOP (rather than the 2nd issued with Don't Be Cruel on top)
The black and white sleeve has a few flaws which stop this from grading higher(see photos)
The black and white image on the front is quite nice, however there are a few rips to the top opener, partial colouring on the H of Hound Dog and a split/rips at the side with some stain spots on the bottom.
The rear also has some pen marks on Elvis' face and the Elvis Presley signature on the rear has been gone over in blue biro(see photos)
That all siad this will be an affordbale collection filler until that mint $150 record and sleeve come along!!!
Overall this was valued at about $70(£47) back in 2008 , so i would guess this would have to be at least £50.
I will start this at way under half of that!!
This, as with ALL of my picture sleeve releases comes housed in a separate paper sleeve containing the record and a protective poly sleeve to help prevent ny further future wear!!
With a LOW START and NO RESERVE you might just get a genuine bargain.
PLEASE REMEMBER THE CONDITION OF THE SLEEVE IF / WHEN PLACING A BID!!!!!!!
Please look at my other auctions for some more great Elvis USA and Japanese picture sleeve lots.
I offer shipping discounts on multiple shipping!
