Description
This is an auction for an ORIGINAL copy of the 1956 release of Hound Dog / Don't Be Cruel released in the USA.
The record itself (47-6604 )is in EXCELLENT- / VERY GOOD+ condition .
There are a few light marks/scratches(nothing too deep or drastic)
The labels are CRISP,CLEAN and have NO WRITING!!!
This is the RARER issue WITH THE HORIZONTAL LINE.
The picture sleeve is much sought after and was listed in a U.S guide book back in 2008 as $50 in the condition it is in now(which i would say is VERY GOOD+ )for the sleeve alone!!!
This was the 1st issued picture sleeve issued for an Elvis release and has 2 GREAT photos (see photos)
THIS IS THE RELEASE WITH HOUND DOG ON TOP (rather than the 2nd issue with Don't Be Cruel on top)
The black and white sleeve has NO WRITING!
The only things that stop this from grading even higher is some tape along one side and some general wear to the top opener(see photos)
This also has the ORIGINAL shop price stamp on the front(see photos)
Overall this was valued at about $80(£53) back in 2008 , so i would guess this would have to be at least £55+.
This is a nice affordable collection filler until that mint $105(£67+) set comes along
I will start this at way under half of that!!
This, as with ALL of my picture sleeve releases comes housed in a separate paper sleeve containing the record and a protective poly sleeve to help prevent ny further future wear!!
With a LOW START and NO RESERVE you might just get a genuine bargain.
