Description
This is an auction for an ORIGINAL copy of the 1956 release of Hound Dog / Don't Be Cruel released in the USA.
The record itself (47-6604 )is in VERY GOOD condition and retains some of it's natural sheen .
There are quite a few light marks/scratches(nothing too deep or drastic).
The labels have some ringwear and numbers written on nipper (There is a named sticker on one side)
This is the RARE issue WITHOUT THE HORIZONTAL LINE.
The picture sleeve is much sought after and was listed in a U.S guide book back in 2002 as $45 in the condition it is in now(which i would say is VERY GOOD+ )for the sleeve alone!!!
This was the 1st issued picture sleeve issued for an Elvis release and has 2 GREAT photos (see photos)
THIS IS THE RELEASE WITH HOUND DOG ON TOP (rather than the 2nd issue with Don't Be Cruel on top)
There are NO MAJOR TEARS or WRITING!!!!(see photos)
There is a small rip to the top opener, a couple of pin holes and a seam split along one side and ringwear(see photos)
Overall this was valued at about $60(£40) back in 2008 , so i would guess this would have to be at least £42.
I will start this at way under half of that!!
This, as with ALL of my picture sleeve releases comes housed in a separate paper sleeve containing the record and a protective poly sleeve to help prevent ny further future wear!!
With a LOW START and NO RESERVE you might just get a genuine bargain.
