FAIRFIELD PARLOUR "From Home to Home" UK Vertigo TEST PRESSING!!
1970/UK/Vertigo 6360001….. here’s a are rare original UK TEST pressing of this UK prog psych lp, essentially the 3rd Kaleidoscope lp. The linen like textured gatefold cover is in solid vg+ to vg++ condition, it was exposed to light moisture at some point and the lower third of the cover has minor light rippling, there is light record impression, light corner wear, bottom right corner tip lightly dinged, a touch of very light spotty wear on the bottom seam, seams and spine are solid and fully legible, inner gatefold has light spotty paper chipping mainly at the very bottom, otherwise the gatefold cover is solid and clean with little wear, no splits or other issues and looks very nice! The vinyl is in strong shiny VG+ condition due to some super light inaudible whispy sleeve scuffs from the poly lined inner sleeve. The record plays clean with little noise and very nice fidelity! The stamped matrix numbers read; 6360001 1Y//1 and 6360001 2Y//1. Includes the original poly lined inner sleeve that has the old original writing Fairfield Parlour top right corner and the matrix number top left corner. A real monster UK gem for any serious prog psych collection! Please check my auctions for other rock, funk, jazz, prog, soul and psych lp’s. Check back often as I will be listing gems all week! Good luck and thanks for looking!

By the end of the decade, failing with their last single "Balloon", the band moved on with their new manager DJ David Symonds, whom they met during the BBC sessions, as Fairfield Parlour, with the same line up. Despite the fact that they were now being called a progressive rock band, their music didn't change much and still included fairy-tale lyrics with psychedelic harmony. The band's first single as Fairfield Parlour, "Bordeaux Rosé", was released on 17 April 1970 on the Vertigo label. It got a considerable amount of radio airplay, but failed to achieve success. After releasing several singles, the album From Home to Home was released on 14 August 1970 with Symond's production. While the band was getting ready to release the album, they again used another name for themselves, I Luv Wight, as they were asked to record the theme tune for the Isle of Wight Festival, "Let the World Wash in", which got released a week after the release of the album From Home to Home. They made the opening for the festival as Fairfield Parlour. The band's second album, White Faced Lady, which they financed independently, was recorded in Morgan Studios in London. Attempts at finding a record company failed and the album was shelved until 1991 when it was released under the name Kaleidoscope on their own label. The band's last appearance was at a concert in Bremen, Germany, in 1972.
