Fairport Convention

Liege & Lief

1969 Rare Pink Island Label
First Press

ILPS 9115 - A1 & ILPS 9115 - B1

Stunning Near Mint Vinyl

I bought this LP in 1969, and I lived in Banbury, near Cropredy, where Fairport played many gigs! As students we would regularly see them perform at folk clubs and college halls and after seeing them, I bought this gate-fold edition, which is an E. J. Day cover.

I didn't play this LP and have NOT played it, as it has stayed in my record collection, which has been moved, boxed, moved  and re-boxed and so the cover shows signs of wear, with a slight split at the top and a little corner and edge wear, as one would expect, BUT the vinyl is pristine, with no marks, no spindle wear... nothing!

It has the original deep pink Island Label and has the sought after A1/B1 Stampers, which, with the Matrix marks are quite feint, but clear in their First Press Codes.

The inner sleeve is the original dye cut with plastic inner, as can be seen in the photos and is crisp, just aged in its whiteness.

Whatever, this is a lovely edition of this fantastic LP and a worthy addition to any folk collection, with the amazing voice of Sandy Denny, as well as the other original band members and owned by me; a lad from just outside Cropredy, who saw them actually live, at the time!

Any questions, please ask.

Thanks.

P. S. I went to school with Chris Leslie, who replaced the legendary Dave Swarbrick, many years later! We went to Dashwood Road School, Grimsbury School, then Grimsbury Hall and ''Yes'' he did play the fiddle at the age of 12!!!! Much to our amusement, as the fiddle was NOT cool! But the music teacher liked him!!!
