An original 1st issue of Rumour from around the time of release. Matrix A/B. Etchings 'Allen/EG'. Please note this Lp would have been available on UK shop shelves whilst the album was charting. During this period European pressing plant was gradually taking over the job of pressing for the UK market. So, just to reiterate this Lp comes from the 1st issue period, but is West German pressed for the UK market. It's also on reasonably solid vinyl which is something you can't say of all '77 copies of Rumours. The vinyl comes housed in the original textured cover. Also included is the original generic white inner sleeve and the original lyric card sheet. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex-) In lovely condition and has clearly only seen light use. Under close inspection I could only make out a couple of light marks per side - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT level of playback with a couple of deviations. Intros and inbetweens are lovely and quiet and the audio comes across with superb clarity. And that's what you really need to be tracking down. Because these early copies do sound rather fab when delivered from a clean solid piece of vinyl. It plays clean even into those lower key slow-build moments. The only deviations from the given grading are..... In 'Songbird' - this is the really tricky lowkey track at the end of Side 1. It plays nice, but you will pick up the odd crackle here and there. It won't play as clean as the other tracks on this LP. The are, also, a few crackles exhibited briefly in 'The Chain' - but nothing that noticeable. Overall a really stellar player. Bring on the hits...!
Cover (Ex/Ex+) In beautiful condition and someone has clearly looked after this cover carefully down the years. Back and front are close on perfect. There's very little edge wear at all and the openings still sharp. The spine is 100% intact. overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.. Sweet!
Insert (Ex+) No ageing or marking or creasing.
Inner (Ex-) Lightest ageing. No splits.
