Frank Sinatra/Eddie Fisher/Kay Starr/Bob Hope Television Show Acetate set. Beautiful, extremely rare set of 6 reference recordings of the NBC television show "Some Of Manie's Friends" which aired on March 3 1959. This is a tribute to Manie Sacks who was a friend and mentor of some of America's top talent from the 30's, 40's & 50's until his death in the late 50's from leukemia. Very touching tribute which includes stories and songs in honor of his memory. Sacks pretty much discovered Harry James and Eddie Fisher and was greatly responsible for the careers of Sinatra, Doris Day, Rosemary Clooney, Dinah Shore and countless others. Guests on the show or tape from a few that could not be there in person include Frank Sinatra, Rosemary Clooney, Perry Como, Vaughn Monroe, Bob Hope, Tony Martin, Kay Starr, Jane Wyman, Dinah Shore, Nat King Cole. Sacks was a record executive at Columbia and later a Vice President of NBC and RCA. Also apparently saved Sinatra from a suicide attempt. The condition of the discs is 9, 6 beautiful reference recordings encompassing 11 recorded sides, a few assorted light marks due to the storage in the original Audiodisc sleeves. I've listed the items as new as that is their appearance, stunning! Also a clipping from a newspaper was in the box and is included. A MUST HAVE FOR TV SHOW/CELEBRITY/REFERENCE RECORDING COLLECTORS AS THIS MAY BE ONE OF A FEW OR THE ONLY ONE THAT EXISTS. 7 May display some seam/spine/ring or cover wear
6 May have several major imperfections,splits tears etc.

Vinyl
10 Pristine/unplayed graded 10 ONLY if it is certain the disc is unplayed
9 Near new/maybe played a few times
8 May show slight use/light marks
7 Will display light wear/scuffs/may have occasional light surface noise but still a very nice item
6 Will display moderate wear/marks/scratches and will have some surface/background noise
5 Disc displays considerable wear/prominent marks/scratches but still listenable
LP/45 Grading
I do not use the term "appears unplayed" since an lp that is open probably has been played regardless of the perceived visual state. Generally I do not list any items below a grade 6 unless it is a very hard item to find in any condition. Lps with 3 grades indicates cover grade and a different grade on each side of the disc. Lps and 45s are cleaned and play graded before going to auction if that appears to be needed..
78 RPM Grading:
78's are usually visually graded since even the cleanest 78s may still have surface noise.
