Description
This auction is for the 1st Israeli pressing of The Jimi Hendrix Experience's "Electric Ladyland" - complete with Arabic track listings on the cover!
It offers a very rare opportunity to get hold of a genuine original and curio that is a must have for all serious Hendrix collectors.
Whilst a complete item, with nothing missing - this version is markedly different from other general releases on the market.
To avoid offending sensibilities within the Middle East, the cover and content was changed from that gracing first editions in the West. (Namely the infamous "nude" version which was itself deleted shortly after distribution). *
* NB - If you'd rather the more familiar, nude package - view my other listings. I am selling that too - though be advised that auction finishes a day or two before this one!
Apart from toning down the risque artwork on other first editions, it was decided to abridge the content of the Israeli pressing.
Sadly this means sides 3 and 4 of what we recognize as Electric Ladyland never made this release.
However, this DOES ensure a genuine collectors item, almost impossible to get hold of.
The tracks run as follows -
And The Gods Made Love
Have You Ever Been
Cross Town Traffic
Voodoo Chile
Still Raining Still Dreaming
House Burning Down
All Along the Watchtower
Voodoo Chile
Another notable feature of this pressing is the alternate listing of the tracks. On both front and back covers the songs are printed in English and Arabic characters.
The Cat No. is Polydor: 184 183/184.
"Stereo also Playable Mono".
The vinyl plays very good to excellent, the jacket is a little tatty as one might expect from a record over forty years old - that said this too is in pretty good shape and still completely in tact.
Lot will be despatched in plastic protective casing.
I always offer a full refund if the condition of my goods do not live up to customer's expectations.
