Description

IMPULSE AS50: JOHN COLTRANE QUARTET  'Live At Birdland'

An album from Coltrane's classic Impulse period, issued in 1963, with the wellknown quartet of Coltrane/Tyner/Garrison and Elvin Jones.  This is a first ABC-Paramount/Impulse stereo pressing orange/black label design. It has a gatefold cover.

Side 1 'Afro-Blue'/'I Want To Talk About You'

Side 2 'The Promise'/'Alabama'/'Your Lady'

CONDITION/DESCRIPTION: The disc is EtoE+ (VG+toVG++) with some light to very light scuffs/scratches, visible under a bright 'grading' light. These have little affect on the playing. The cover is E (VG+), with some corner/edge damage and some surface rubbing/scratching/creasing. Inside the gatefold there is a small amount of surface dirt/staining along the top of both sides. On the back, there are some small spots of yellow (paint?).
