JAZZ QUINTET 60: Presenting, Denmark Fontana 1963 MONO 1st Pressing LP, made in absolutely tiny numbers, judging by how often this is seen for sale - which is just about never. This is the first copy I have ever seen in real life - the 2nd copy I have 'heard' of in 15 years of record hunting in Denmark. My heart skipped a beat when I picked it out of collection of rock LPs. How it got there, I have no idea! Now I've heard the music too, and to me it's one of the very best danish jazz LP from the 60s, possibly along with their first LP on Metronome. The quality of playing from Axen, Rostvold, NHOP and Botschinsky are well known - Tenor-man Nils Husom also has some great moments here!

VINYL is graded VG(+). Side one is VG++ to EXCELLENT, plays great with sharp sound all the way, minimal crackle only in a few spots. A few light hairlines only. Side two is VG, track 2 & 3 are affected by some light scracthes (pic 5) that clicks and crackles on the mellow track 2, and is heard much less on the louder track 3. Track 1 & 4 plays great. The overall sound of this LP is great, and if not of the light scracthes (barely feelable with fingers) affecting B2 & B3 this LP would be strong VG++ to EXCELLENT. Really not a much played copy.

COVER is VG++, close to EXCELLENT, see pics. Nice spines, nice from front and back. Overall, pretty hard to beat.

GRADINGS

• MINT- is superb, almost like new. No marks, scratches, clicks, noise, or anything else.
• EX is also VERY nice, 2-3 light marks perhaps, no disturbing noise, great sound quality.
• VG+, a nice player, but probably has some visual impairments, and some clicks or light noise in places; always see the individual description.
• VG: Rarely put of for sale, an ok copy, but always see the individual description.

PLAYGRADING

I play-grade parts of or whole LPs to determine the actual sound-quality of the item. Palygrading is done on a quality system with an Linn LP12 as the main source.

SHIPPING

I SHIP IN BAND NEW CRUCIFORM shipping boxes with stiffeners & extra corner protection always added. .The boxes are slightly bigger than the normal LP-size, thereby providing good protection of corners and edges. I remove LPs from sleeves, in order to prevent seam-splits on transit.
