Description
Please click on the Soul and Funk links above to see ALL the soul records I have listed.
You can add additional 45s to an order at little or no extra shipping cost.
Original pressing of Toddlin Town #8203. Not a reissue, recent pressing, or counterfeit. ''New Girl (Living In The Neighborhood)'' (writer: H. Williams) b/w ''I'll Be Standing By'' (wr: Nestor). Produced by Vestee & Verdico. Matrix: SS6436 01A crossed out, 3182 remains, and a TR logo as well.
I'm sure you know all about this fantastic uptempo soul mover! Nice raw sound. It's very schizophrenic, in that one sides sounds like a black group and the other white. ''I'll Be Standing By'' is like a typical 1960s garage record. In fact I had filed this into my own garage collection due to the B-side, although I have LOVED the 'New Girl' side since I got this record (about 12 years). I didn't know until recently that the A-side was so sought-after. It's worth more to you soul guys than it is to me, so on the block it goes.
Vinyl (visually graded): Amazing! I'm giving it my usual top grade of NM, but it's actually MINT. It's a vinyl pressing too, not styrene, so that helps... but I don't think this was played before I got it, and I've only played it (carefully!) less than a half dozen times. Typical story, it came from a batch of promo stuff and the previous owner didn't give a hoot about it. Luckily he took care of it though, it's obviously always been in a sleeve. No flaws on vinyl whatsoever... no hairlines, no surface scuffs, no paper scuffs, nothing. Labels: NM with DJ Copy stamped on one side. Again, labels should be called Mint, though I try to refrain from using that grade. The flip has a small ink mark where it was pressed up against another copy immediately after they promo-stamped it. OVERALL, THIS RECORD IS PERFECT AND A BETTER COPY SIMPLY COULDN'T EXIST. WAITING FOR THE BEST POSSIBLE COPY FOR YOUR COLLECTION? I CAN SAY WITHOUT RESERVATION, HERE IT IS.
Conservatively graded, under very revealing spotlights. Please check our feedback before bidding! Visually graded. NM is usually my highest grade but I rarely use it for 45s unless they're visually perfect (and virtually unplayed). NM- is what I mostly use for real clean 45s which the average person would call "like new". For the lower grades, if they look questionable, I'll playtest them and mention it.

PLEASE READ OUR TERMS BEFORE BIDDING! When the auction ends, wait for our 'After-Auction Message' email. If you haven't received it after 24 hours, and you have checked your Spam folder, email us and tell us. You MUST reply within three days, stating the payment method you plan to use and type of shipping you want. Always eMail me directly, don't use eBay's 'Contact Seller' or 'Request Total'. Payments not received within 14 days are submitted for refund.
Auction Terms and Ordering Info will be the same as those in our regular auctions (see them here on my page) with one exception: for THIS auction only, I can't accept PayPal. Sorry, but I can't afford the large fee they will charge me to accept this payment. I have a personal Paypal account through which I can accept Non-Credit Card payments, but eBay says I can't use that as a payment option unless I accept Credit Cards too. Therefore, for this Auction only, no PayPal. I'd like to offer it, but I can't under eBay's current setup. Forms or payment that ARE accepted are: Money Orders, IMO's, checks (personal checks only if you have at least 10 positives and no negatives), or cash in a Registered letter. If you have any concerns, comments or want to discuss alternatives, EMAIL ME BEFORE BIDDING, please. Thanks!
