Description

Original 10-inch 78rpm shellac record on the black and gold Brunswick label, catalog number 02886. This UK pressing features two iconic performances by Judy Garland from the 1939 film The Wizard of Oz, accompanied by Victor Young and his Orchestra:

  • Side A: Over the Rainbow

  • Side B: The Jitterbug

  • Recording Date: July 28, 1939 (Hollywood)

  • Pressing Date: late 1939 / early 1940 (UK Brunswick)

  • Pressing No: 02886 (A/B), 10‑inch shellac

This record was manufactured in England by Brunswick Ltd., licensed from Decca (USA), and issued shortly after the film’s original release. Of particular interest to collectors, “The Jitterbug” was a deleted scene from the final cut of the movie and only survives in audio form.

Comes in its original paper sleeve from Robert Morley & Co. of Lewisham and Bromley, advertising gramophone repairs and accessories. A charming period piece in its own right.

A rare opportunity to own a pre-war UK issue of one of the most beloved film songs of all time.

Please forward these photographs to me so I can instigate a claim with the carrier. If I do not receive this evidence of damage in transit, it may delay or prevent a refund.

Thanks for looking.
