Description

An original 2nd press of Zep III on the UK Atlantic label from Q1 1971. Matrix A5/B7. Etchings 'So Mote It Be/Do What Thou Wilst'. The heavy set vinyl comes housed in an original cover printed by E. J Day. The early covers are heavy card construction and make reference to being 'Deluxe'. That wheel in the front cover is fully operational. Also included is an original 'plastic bag warning' inner sleeve from the time. So, 100%  genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex+) In fantastic condition and has clearly only seen light use. Under close inspection there are a couple of marks - nothing troublesome though. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an EXCELLENT+ level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are very nice and quiet and the audio comes across with great clarity. These heavy set early red & plum copies really do produce the best sound you can possibly hope for. A lovely rich sound with bags of transparency. Interference is very minor. Now, please note there is a visible mark across track 1 which is just getting feelable. Thankfully, I have played it through and really can't pick out any affect in track 1, and then only a couple of crackles momentarily in the intro to track 2. In addition we picked out a couple of ticks in the intro to 'Since I've been loving you'. But that really is all that's vaguely worth mentioning. Overall this copy is very low-mileage and plays very very clean. Believe me when I say this is of the utmost importance on Zep III as it's predominantly acoustic in nature.
Cover (Ex) In very nice condition and has clearly been cared for down the years. Front and back are nice and clean with only lightest signs of ageing at the extremities. Please note on the rear there are a few laminate creases over JPJ's face - this is very common with Zep III and occurred during manufacture. The interior is in immaculate condition. Edge wear is very light and that spine is 100% intact. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity and lies totally flat. A really superb specimen.
