This is an ULTRA RARE original copy of SNAKETIME SERIES by MOONDOG. This lp is on the moondog label (with NY address on label) and in very clean excellent condition. The lp is very thick non flexible vinyl from around 1953. The thick cardboard cover is in very good condition with no seam splits but has some color loss around the dog (probably due to a water stain).

Original 12" grooved label, heavy vinyl LP with screen-printed cover, self-released on Moondog Records, matrix number MOON 1A/1B. Privately pressed, sold by Moondog himself on the streets of New York in the early 50s. Veeerry weird, amazing and unclassifiable music from this blind street musician/composer/instrument builder/poet/philosopher , and a super-rare piece of music history! Less than 50 playable copies of this record are rumored to exist worldwide!

Moondog sings, recites poetry, plays his own percussion instruments plus piano, recorder etc. His wife Suzuko, their six-week-old daughter, his mother-in-law, and several other musicians also perform.
