Description
The experience of buying records on Ebay is ruined if, when they arrive, you discover that they are either not in the condition stated or have been damaged in the post! For this reason I describe all my items in detail, and only post using strong sturdy packaging in a 'box' mailer with the record outside the sleeve to avoid seam-splitting. They are also from a non-smoking and pet-free home.

Morrissey - 'Suedehead' Numbered Promo 12" - 1988

When Morrissey first began releasing singles as a solo artist in 1988, the first six releases, from 'Suedehead' to 'November Spawned A Monster', were all promoted to radio stations with a specially-issued 12" which had large 'A' and 'B' lettering on the labels and were characterised by a differently-coloured die-cut outer sleeve in each case. This 12" represents the first of these six and is therefore the very first Morrissey promotional 12" ever to be released, and was the only one of these six promo 12"s to be individually numbered. This record is complete with its bright blue outer sleeve and sticker banner across the front which was stamped with its individual number, this one being 0976, and carrying the distinctive font for Morrissey's name which was used on the first two singles. Apparently, some copies of this promotional 12" were distributed in a plain outer blue sleeve without the individually-numbered sticker banner and hence copies which are complete and numbered, such as the copy here, have become more highly sought-after of the two varieties. This copy has been very well looked-after (see below) and is becoming increasingly collectable as interest in the back catalogue of Morrissey's work continues to grow.The vinyl and labels are in strong excellent condition, with only the occasional light 'hairline' surface mark on the highly-glossy vinyl and faint 'scuff' mark appearing if it is held to the light; the record may well be unplayed. The outer sleeve is also in strong excellent condition, with no significant signs of wear at all other than a neat 1.5 inch seam-split in the centre of the right hand edge which is hard to see from the front or reverse of the sleeve and therefore fairly unobtrusive. There is no writing, no tears and no creases other than minor 'rippling' in the delicate sleeve. Please see the accompanying photos for more detail; note that the 'Ebay ID' lettering is just on the pictures and not on the item itself.
