The experience of buying records on Ebay is ruined if, when they arrive, you discover that they are either not in the condition stated or have been damaged in the post! For this reason I describe all my items in detail, and only post using strong sturdy packaging in a 'box' mailer with the record outside the sleeve to avoid seam-splitting. They are also from a non-smoking and pet-free home.

The Smiths - 'Singles Box' (Sealed) Limited Edition 12 x 7" Set - 2008

This terrific box set of The Smiths' re-issued first ten singles was released by Rhino in 2008 and was limited to a run of 10,000, each of which was individually numbered. This one is a rarity in that it is still sealed in its original cellophane and, since the numbering is inside the set, the number of this particular box is unknown. The box contains a faithful repressing of each of The Smiths' first ten singles, as well as 'Still Ill' and 'The Headmaster Ritual' which were included as two bonus 7"s. The box artwork features Joel Fabiani from the 1969 TV series "Department S" and was designed by Morrissey himself. As well as the 7" singles, the box contains a 14"x14" poster and 4 badges in addition to a 'passcode' which gives the right to download MP3s of the songs from the 'Rhino' website. These box sets are already five years old, and it is getting quite difficult now to find examples in a good complete state; it appears likely that sealed examples such as this one are set to become future collectables as they become increasingly very scarce indeed.The box set is brand new and unopened, being still sealed in its original cellophane wrapping. The corners and edges of the box are still sharp and there are no dents in the box underneath the cellophane. There is a region along one side where the cellophane has neatly split open over time, but the box underneath is clean and unmarked where it has been exposed and the packaging is still otherwise intact. Please see the accompanying photos for more detail; note that the 'Ebay ID' lettering is just on the pictures and not on the item itself.
