An extremely rare opportunity to own an original UK vinyl press of Nick Drake's classic 1969 debut album Five Leaves Left.
Very very few copies of this first original pink block island pressing were made, making this the holy grail for Nick Drake fans and record collectors alike.

Vinyl (Visual)
The record is beautifully clean and still has an amazing shine, looks absolutely stunning! A few scuffs as to be expected with a record of this age and some faint hairlines which become apparent when held under a bright light. To the naked eye there are only a few marks and the record is exceptionally clean and shiny!
Vinyl (Audio)
Record plays with a beautifully deep rich sound and no skips or jumps whatsoever! The wide sonic dynamic range reveals parts of the recording that just can't be heard on a digital copy of this album. The sound is very mid-low end with a rich bass which really enhances the recording and the warm feel of Nick's voice. The record does play with some light crackle in parts caused by some scuffs and there are the occasional sporadic pop but there are no clicks or ticks at all. Listening to this record is the real experience!    

Labels
As can be seen from the photographs the pink block labels are in stunning near mint condition. No writing or graffiti whatsoever with minimal signs of spindle wear, a very fine example!
Gatefold Sleeve
Original 1969 Ernest J.Day gatefold sleeve with Way to Blue and Day is Done order reversed error. The Island Records address on the back cover is Basing Street London W11. The inside of the gatefold is beautifully clean with a solemn looking Nick opposite the lyrics page displaying written lyrics to 3 songs on the album including an unrecorded verse for River Man as another possible misprint. As can be seen from photographs the outside of the sleeve and the spine are worn which is to be expected as Island refused to laminate their sleeves at this time. There is a split along the bottom of the back page of the gatefold and a slight tear as can be seen in the photograph but nothing missing. No writing or graffiti whatsoever and considering the age and the fact the sleeve is unlaminated, the sleeve is actually in very good condition.
Custom Blue Inner Bag - 
The ORIGINAL 'Ice blue' Island inner bag with 'Pink i' - a bit creased but in excellent condition with no splits. This was only issued with the first pressing and is very very scarce and almost never included within sales of this record.
