I am now selling about 90 pct of my collection of 78', LP's, rare books and magazines over the next few months, after 40 years of collecting blues and jazz-records.I have always bought the best copies available of the records in question.And here they are.Other dealers would say mint about many of my records.Well..... I do not use mint few things in this world are perfect.I am very conservative when I grade and I use the grade E+ when the record looks perfect.Norman Granz.The Jazz Impresario's masterpiece recording.THE JAZZ SCENE 6 RECORD SET.THIS SET IS ONE OF THE FINEST SETS EXTANT!!.FIRST PRESSING!!.Encased in a black portfolio album.The six records are in individual envelope covers( in this fine copy the records are covered in fine rice paper innersleeves in the envelope covers!!), spiral bound into the portfolio album, and slotted in between the RARE booklet [Folio size] of photography of the biggest names in JAZZ.There are 31 stunning photographs in this fine set of legends like CHARLIE PARKER, LESTER YOUNG, DUKE ELLINGTON, COLEMAN HAWKINS, GENE KRUPA, RALPH BURNS, BUD POWELL, ELLA FITZGERALD, ART TATUM, COUNT BASIE, SARAH VAUGHAN, BILLIE HOLIDAY, DIZZY GILLESPIE ETC.Norman Granz produced this enterprise with his own money, and issued it in 1949 in a LIMITED EDITION of 5000 copies, all SIGNED by him.The set cost 25.00 USD in 1949!!.This copy is number 2025.There is a very fine print by DAVID STONE MARTIN in the set.The six(12 inch) records are issued on the MERCURY Label.[1] DUKE ELLINGTON [2]NEAL HEFTI/CHARLIE PARKER [3]COLEMAN HAWKINS/LESTER YOUNG [4]RALPH BURNS/GEORGE HANDY [5]CHARLIE PARKER/WILLIE SMITH [6]MACHITO/BUD POWELL. ALL RECORDS ARE IN, AT LEAST, A STUNNING E CONDITION!!.NO SPINDLE MARKS!!.VERY CLEAN SHINY RECORDS.SOME OF THE RECORDS LOOK NEW.PHOTOGRAPHY IS BY GJON MILI.
