Description

An original LATE 1st issue of Animals on UK Harvest. Matrix 4/4. Note that this is not an early 1st issue pressed at EMI Village. It would have been pressed by Orlake Records [Dagenham] - and available toward the end of the initial chart run. The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original gatefold cover. There's also the original inner sleeve too. So, we're 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex-) In lovely condition and has clearly been cared for. Under close inspection I can only make out a couple of light marks per side - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT level of playback with just a couple of deviations. Intros an inbetweens are very nice and quiet and the audio comes across with superb clarity. By an large a very nice clean player - and you'll need that with Floyd. I could only detect a few crackles in a couple of isolated spots. The quiet mid-section of Dogs [S1] and the quiet intro to Sheep [S2] - nothing major. I also detected a couple of clicks in the intro to Pigs early on side 2. Other than that expect a splendid rendition. One of my favourite Floyd LPs - and this copy is more than capable of doing it full justice.
Cover (Vg+) In very nice condition and has not been abused. First thing to note on the front is that there's a print error observable. There's the pig over on the left [as per usual] but over on the right there's a splodge of pink. Now, this has not been caused by a previous owner. It's clearly beneath the surface and was caused in the original printing phase. Back and front look very nice and tidy with only some light handling in places. The interior is in excellent order - no issues. There's edge wear, but nothing epic and the openings are still sharpish. The spine could be described as only average. The text is still pretty much all still legible - but there is wear in places. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity - in part thanks to the heavy card employed in manufacture.
Inner (Vg+) No splits. But a bit of stress creasing at the edges.
