Description
Pink Floyd, In Europe 1988; EMI PSLP 1016, promotional copy, copy that belonged to legendary radio presenter John Peel. Rare and very collectable. With Peel's hand-written catalogue number on cover.
Only distributed in small numbers to British radio stations to promote the 1988 tour, with a unique sleeve, with tour dates on the verso and a 'Promotional Copy Not for Sale' stamp also on verso and on the record labels. The songs are studio recordings, not live recordings.
Note the mis-press: Another Brick In The Wall (Part 2) is on the sleeve and label, but the song played on the vinyl is Part 1.
From the collection of legendary British radio presenter and journalist John Peel (1939-2004). Peel was instrumental in supporting bands and singers such as The Sex Pistols, Joy Division, Nirvana, The Damned, Queen, The Cure, The Clash, The Undertones, David Bowie, T. Rex others, helping bring them to the awareness of the listening public; his ‘Peel Sessions’ in particular providing a hugely important platform for emerging talent.
Vinyl: Excellent +/Near Mint. Excellent quality throughout, played through, see the video that aims for the silence of the playout after Money and the lead in to Shine on you Crazy Diamond (Part 1). No skips, jumps and barely any crackle, lightest of barely visible surface scratches - from what I can see, barely played by Peel. No spindle marks to the very clean labels. Sleeve: Ex +. With John Peel's catalogue number in his hand to the top left of the upper cover. Some light spotting to the black of the cover and light rubbing to the sleeve edges, a few light creases, no tears.
Inner Sleeve: original, excellent.
Provenance: from the collection of John Peel; I will include a print out of my invoice showing this album comes from Peel's collection.
