Description

An original Decca pressing of Aftermath from 1973. Matrix 4/5. This copy dates from just prior to the oil crisis of late '73 and so you can still rely on a decent pressing weight and Decca's strict quality standards. The vinyl comes housed in an original Robert Stace cover with original Decca inner sleeve. The sleeve is date coded to 1973 [08-73]. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex+) In absolutely superb condition - if only all vinyl looked this sweet. Very slight use and we are struggling to make out a single mark. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an, at least, EXCELLENT+ level of playback. I always find Aftermath a particularly fussy title for audio. But this copy is preserved like no other and the rendition provided is just so so clean - very unusual. Intros and inbetweens are silent and the audio comes across with perfect clarity. All that low-key percussive sound just rings perfectly true with no interference. I honestly don't recall more than a couple of crackles the whole way through. Believe me...that is very very unusual. FINAL UPGRADE.
Cover (Ex/Ex+) Just what ever collector would like - a lovely shiny front and a clean rear. We can always hope - but very few copies truly manage to hit this standard. We could only spot one crease on the front and pretty much nothing other than incredibly low-level handling on the rear. Edge wear is very very light and the spine is 100% intact. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity and lies totally flat. What a specimen!
