Description

An original 1st press on the UK Decca label. Matrix 1W/1W - very first iteration. Worth insisting on an early copy of this famous live LP as pressing quality deteriorated somewhat on later copies. Early copies are pressed heavier and the labels are identifiable by the wider body text employed - which is most clearly visible on the album title. The early copies also came housed in a fully laminated cover [back and front] - which significantly improves preservation on this title. This copy was printed by Upton and includes a pinched spine. Also included, here, is the original blue and white Decca inner sleeve. Note how it is dated 07-70..That's July 1970 two months prior to 1st release of this title. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex+) In superb condition and has only seen light use. Under close inspection I can only make out a couple of very light marks per side - nothing remotely troublesome. Check out those label shots! A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an EXCELLENT+ level of playback with one slight deviation. Intros and inbetweens are super quiet and the audio comes across with super clarity. A top level player - don't short change yourself with a later pressing. Go early..go heavy pressed. This truly is a cracking live album which reveals just how sharp the Stones were at the height of their powers. Expect nothing more than a couple of isolated crackles in a couple of spots per side. The only deviation is in the first passage of "Sympathy FTD"....I picked out a couple of minor ticks...and precious little else. Clean as you could possibly hope for, and consistently clean. Even in  'Love In Vain'... I can only pick out the occasional low-level static crackle here and there....it plays MUCH better than you usually tend to find. Overall an absolute top-level copy....you'll really struggle to equal it, let alone better it.
Cover (Ex/Ex+) An amazing looking cover which has clearly been looked after very carefully down the years. Lovely clean and shiny front which appears to have avoided ageing..just a couple of very light thumbnail creases over on the right side. The rear looks really sweet and has totally avoided the ageing process - which is unusual. All I can make out on the rear is one low-level scratch mark [very minor]. Barely any edge wear at all and very sharp openings. The spine is 100% intact - perfect! Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity. A beautiful looking original example.
Inner (Ex-) Lightest ageing, but no splits or markings.
