Description
SCOTT APPEL ~ Nine Of Swords Cassette
Scarce original US 1988 Kicking Mule (KMC 343) 11-track Cassette - a tribute to Nick Drake with six covers and five, very Drake-inspired, instrumentals.
Molly and Rodney Drake were famously open and generous to anyone showing empathic, deepfelt interest in their son's work - very understandably so. A huge fan and already a gifted guitarist, Scott Appel made this album with their full co-operation and assistance as it contained obscure and, at the time, non-LP tracks that he was allowed golden access to.
Back in the day before the floodgates opened, Scott Appel's Nine Of Swords was an important addition to any Nick Drake collection and, listening now, remains a touching work of inspired dedication. Listen here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z_7lyrwSTMA
