Description

THE STARK REALITY Discovers Hoagie Carmichel`s Music Shop  AJP records LPS 5167 M-/M-/ EX sleeve
an extremely nice copy of the ultra rare 2Lp set “The Stark Reality Discovers Hoagy Carmichael’s Music Shop,” released in 1970 as the music for the WGBH/21”Classroom television series. This is in no way a typical children’s show soundtrack; this is some seriously weird and complex Zappa-esque jazz/rock fusion, and quite an interesting ride it is. . Musicians include Monty Stark on vibes/voice, John Abercrombie on guitar, Phil Morrison on bass and Vinnie Johnson on drums.

Tracklist: 1.Merry-Go-Round 2.Junkman’s Song 3.Thirty Days Hath September 4.The Whale 5.The Old Prospector 6.Grandfather Clock 7.Cooking 8.Shooting Stars 9.Rocket Ship 10.Dreams 11.Swing High 12.Clouds 13.Traveling 14.Bustin’ Out Of Doors 15.Comrades
