Description

An original 1st issue of Revolver on the UK Parlophone label from 1966 - within the first few months whilst the LP charted. Matrix 2/3. Note this example is NOT the very 1st TNK alternate mix..[NOT!]. At 1st release John Lennon chipped in and complained that the "DR.Robert" track should actually read "Doctor Robert" to better reflect the subject matter of the track. All copies from this point on where NOT abbreviated! The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original G&L cover with flipbacks. Also included is an original Emitex inner sleeve from the time. So, 100% complete and 100% genuine.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex-) In lovely condition and has only seen light use. Under close inspection I can only make out a few light marks per side - nothing troublesome or noticeable though. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are very nice and quiet and the audio comes across with great clarity. By and large a clean and impressive player. Interference is both minor and infrequent. Expect nothing more than a few crackles in a couple of isolated moments per side. Even the track 'Here There Everywhere' [perhaps the fussiest of all!] plays relatively clean with just a few isolated crackles - much better than you tend to usually find. Overall a very assured and enjoyable rendition from this true mono 1st. Which is not all that easy to find..
Cover (Ex-) In great shape and has clearly been looked after don the years. That iconic image looks nice and white and hasn't been affected all that much by the ageing process. The only sign I can make out is down in the bottom right corner which you can just make out a touch of foxing. The rear looks well preserved with very little wear. One or two minor creases on the flipbacks, but they are otherwise in great condition and all intact. Edge wear is relatively light and the spine 100% intact.
