Description

An original 1st issue of Revolver on the UK Parlophone label from 1966. Matrix 2/3. Please note the labels exhibit the track 'DR.Robert' in abbreviated form. At release John Lennon stepped in and famously asked for the track to be renamed 'DOCTOR' on the labels. So, this indicator places this copy right into the first couple of months of release whilst Revolver topped the charts [please note, however, this is NOT the very early TNK version]. The heavy set vinyl comes housed in an original mono Garrod & Lofthouse cover. Also included is the original generic 'patents applied for' inner sleeve. So 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex-) In very nice condition and has only seen a light to moderate level of use. Under close inspection there are a couple of very light marks either side - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are nice and quiet and the audio comes across with great clarity. Revolver is a difficult LP to find playing really clean - and this example acquits itself admirably. The only vague issue I had was a touch of sibilance in 'HERE THERE..'as is common... and even that is relatively minor. Do expect the odd crackle in a few isolated moments, but nothing significant or annoying at all. It is a good solid playing copy that impresses.
Cover (Vg+) In great shape and has been cared for down the years. Nice shiny white front which doesn't seem to have circummed much to the usual ageing process. Do expect a few creases over toward the opening. The rear is relatively clean - not perfect...but not too bad at all. All flipbacks are intact and the spine is intact. Overall the cover retains very good rigidity and remains a great specimen.
Inner (Vg+) Lightest ageing. Bottom edge split and taped up. Otherwise fine.
