Description
The White Album reissue from 1973 on the UK Apple label. Matrix -1/-3/-1/-1. Harrison's songs have split publishing. The 1st Lp mentions 'Apple' & the 2nd LP mentions 'Harrisongs'. The records comes housed in an original side-opening gatefold cover. The cover is embossed 'BEATLES', but there's no number stamp as per the very early copies. Also included are the original four photos and the lyrics poster. But what really is impressive, here, is the level of preservation on the cover and the vinyl - it is superb!
Vinyl (Ex+/Ex+) Again, these are just one of those slabs of vinyl you can only stand back and marvel at. Shiny like new and clearly has seen just the very very lightest of use. Under close inspection we could only make out a couple of very very minor marks - the bag rash type, nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an EXCELLENT+ level of playback. I truly believe it would be nigh on impossible to beat this copy. It is a FINAL UPGRADE for sure. Intros and inbetweens are silent and the audio comes across with perfect clarity - and I mean clean, clean as anything. Interference - nothing remotely audible...we didn't detect more than a couple of crackles across the entire four sides. So, these Lp's have clearly been pressed to the highest EMI/Apple standards and the fact that they are so well preserved means you will be treated to an unrivalled level of performance - GUARANTEED.
Cover (Ex+) Well, again you can only wonder just how this perfectly white album managed to last that way for forty years+! Shiny like new and exhibiting hardly any wear at all - just the lightest of ring wear. Edge wear is very very minimal indeed - unusually so. No hidden tears or nasty creases. The spine is 100% intact, again, this is a tricky one to find in anything like this condition.
4 X photos - Ex+...Perfect!No ageing or marks back or front.
Lyric poster - Vg+ all present, no splits, a few c.m.'s of water damage in the top right.
