Description

An original 2nd issue of WTB on the UK Parlophone label from early 1964. Matrix 7N/7N. Please note that the labels still mention 'recording 1st pub' and 'Parlophone' in the perimeter text [No mention of "Sold In The UK"]. This is the effective early 2nd issue from Q1 '64 where they'd corrected all the typos on the labels. The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original G&L cover with patents pending. Also included is the original Emitex inner sleeve. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete. If you are a collector who needs really top level preservation...read on!
Vinyl (Ex+) An absolute stunner which has seen only the very lightest use [from very early '64]. Under close inspection I could only make out a couple of very light marks per side - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an, at least, EXCELLENT+ level of playback. Probably the best rendition of WTB I've witnessed...nigh on perfect. I'm literally having difficulty picking out anything in the background at all. Literally nothing at all - I have never heard such a quiet background..near perfect. The audio quality is stunning - perfect reproduction - delivered from a copy just three/four months from the original master! If you're a listener with very fussy tastes and need the absolute BEST that can possibly be delivered by a copy from this era...do seriously consider this copy. Interference..pah! nothing...zip..I'll do my usual catch-all...you might detect a couple of isolated crackles in an isolated moment per side. FINAL UPGRADE...could not possibly be bettered.
Cover (Ex) Again, one very careful owner - clearly. Give the time-frame we're talking about, here, this sort of level really is superb. Lovely shiny unaged front with little to complain at. There's a couple of thumbnail creases near the opening and a tiny 4mm tear at the opening [secured internally with tape]. The rear looks fab and has hardly been effected by ageing at all. All flipbacks are intact and secure. Edge wear is minimal and the spine is 100% intact. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity. A very fine and early specimen.
Emitex (Ex-) Light ageing. No splits or markings.
