Fabulous numbered edition of the Norman Granz- Fred Astaire Mercury Records set of 1,384,set number 1164,authentically signed by Fred.Cloth binding of set in excellent shape,light storage wear but no damage.Upon opening book there is rice-type paper that protects photos,that page is nearly off the spiral binding inside.All other pages hare fimly attached to spiral binding.Photo pages has light age spots but excellent for the most part after 60 years as it is dated 1952.Notes by Norman and Fred themselves grace portfolio.Flip Phillips,Charlie Shavers,Oscar Peterson,Barney Kessel.Ray Brown and Alvin Stoller provide the music behind Fred.Photo pages on heavy stock paper.Portfolio and drawings by David Stone Martin enclosed in light blue attached folder,both color and pencil like sketches.Packaging in all is excellent in my opinion.
Records themselves house in attached light blue sleeves are all pressed in blue vinyl,difficult to tell from my pic.Unfortunately,records all have varying degrees of scratches,so grading Good at best.Surface noise and pops guaranteed,skipping likely at times.If you have these 4 records and need the package,here is your chance.Set has sold for 2000 dollars in mint condition,although this is far from that,still has a good value and should only appreciate in years to come.Good luck.
