Description
"The Astaire Story", autographed by Fred Astaire and numbered #372 of the Limited Edition of 1384 copies. Includes a really cool handwritten and signed gift note by producer Norman Granz, gifting this copy to "Glen" — no last name, but it is likely Glen Gray, a friend and client of Norman Granz. The photo of that (photo #3) shows the front of the card, which was paper clipped to the inside pink page, along with an inset of the back of the card (I removed the rusted paper clip carefully and am reluctant to replace it for fear of damaging the page or the note; I'll just include that clip in case you want to put it back like I found it). Dated 1952 (photo #2 shows an inset of the text from the previous page, with the date). This is the most well known of Norman Granz's "Jazz at the Philharmonic" series. Includes a "Portfolio of Drawings and Pochoir" by David Stone Martin; there are 7 black and white illustrations and a larger color pochoir (photo #4) in the fabulous blue envelope page with ribbon closure (photo #6). With the exception of the sun fading on the front cover and spine (photos #1 and #11) everything is in near-mint condition; the 4 beautiful blue vinyl records appear never to have been played. Size is approx. 14" x 13" x 1".

Thank you!On Jun-09-17 at 10:57:28 PDT, seller added the following information: I just took a closer look at the envelope of illustrations, and it turns out that two of the black and whites are the same. Duplicates. That's why I have 7 when the original only had 6. Bonus!
On Jun-12-17 at 05:50:20 PDT, seller added the following information: My husband just noticed that I did not mention the small hole on the cover fabric. It is visible in the first photo when you zoom in. It's next to the word "Produced". The red fabric on the cover seems to be doubled, so you still see the same color through the hole, that's why I hadn't noticed it.
