READ DESCRIPTION IN FULL, FIRST...
An original 1st press of SF on the UK Rolling Stone label from 1971. Matrix A4/B4. Etching - Rolling Stone Records. The labels do not exhibit 'Promotone' and, therefore, qualifies as 1st press - [although there are even earlier cuts]. The vinyl comes housed in an original Richard Davis cover with a working zip and a pinched spine. Also included is the original generic white inner sleeve with blue text and the original Richard Davis credit insert. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete
Vinyl (Ex-/Vg+) Ok, so this copy has seen some use and there are some marks in places. If you're the sort of person who is going to freak out at that then maybe this copy isn't for you. It has not seen heavy use - but do expect a few marks either side..basically it's not one of those copies where it looks impressively clean [sorry!]. That being said, for the most part, it plays very very nice barring one noticeable issue. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly NEAR EXCELLENT level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are nice and quiet and the audio comes across with great clarity. Most tracks play very nice, but do expect the odd crackle here and there sporadically - it's not going to make the top Ex grade all the way through, but it's a very nice and enjoyable rendition. The one deviation is toward the start of side 2. A relatively small radial mark causes two noticeable jumps. They are certainly audible, but do not repeat. So it plays through the problem area, but you will certainly hear it in the audio. If you can live with this issue then the remainder of this LP plays back very neat indeed, and at this price is certainly still worthy of consideration.
Cover (Ex-) In great condition and seems to have survived the years in excellent condition. These covers so often surface with ageing or foxing, but this is in very nice clean condition. Zip is clean and functioning. The flaps at the top have not torn off like on many examples. There's minimal ageing and a couple of indentations from the zips on the rear [as is almost unavoidable!] - but it's in very decent overall condition. Edge wear is reasonably light and, for once, pretty much all the text on the spine is still legible. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
Inner (Ex) Lightest of ageing. No splits or markings.
Insert (Ex+) Nigh on perfect. Lovely and crisp.
