The Velvet Underground and Nico Unripened Vinyl LP Green Banana A1 B1 Rare Norman Dolph
‘Taken from the original acetate version. Every effort hasbeen made to clean up the sound, but also keep the feel’ quote from the foot ofthe reverse of the cover.
Note that the ‘Andy Warhol’ on the front is not in the blackstrip, it is a version of the original ‘Norman Dolph’ produced Acetate Version

Please note the recording itself is noisy as it is theoriginal recording on acetate but the vinyl record is near mint.

This historic album was, of course, initially recorded as a ten-trackacetate in Norman Dolph’s Scepter Studios in New York on 25th April 1966. Two acetateswere pressed and one was given to Andy Warhol offered it to Columbia Records,Atlantic Records and Elektra who all turned it down. Warhol then took the bandto Los Angelesand with Ted Wilson re-recorded most of the songs and Verve Records agreed torelease it. Warhol’s acetate disappeared but the other copy surfaced in a New York streetsale in 2006 and was bought by record collector Warren Hill for 75 cents. Hillput the record up for auction on eBay, and eventually sold it for $25,200. Itwas resold in 2014.
A bootleg of the acetate recording called “Unripened” appeared in 2007,pressed first on green and later on black vinyl with a pastiche of Warhol’soriginal cover for the Velvet’s album. The green banana was not peelable andinstead of “Peel slowly and see” beside the banana’s neck this version said“Unripened listen slowly and hear.”

I am selling my vinyl, these are all from my personalcollection, bought over many years, they are all original, no remasters.
This Vinyl record has been kept upright in a vinyl recordcase which means it has kept very well indeed.
This record is in original condition and you will findgrading attributes for it above in the description.
The grading is from a visual inspection and from playing the record.
The grading is according to the ‘Goldmine Standards’.
It comes from a smoke and pet free environment.
I will try to combine postage (especially if you buy a boxfull) but as they will tend to be sent out in individual mailers there isprobably not that much scope to do so.
However to give me the opportunityto combine postage, if you buy more than 1 then please add them to basketand checkout together, don’t pay, then I will send you an invoice with combined postage/insurance if I can.
The postage I charge represents the cost of the postage andmailer and if the vinyl is particularly expensive, the additional cost ofinsurance.
I welcome cash on collection if you want but otherwise it isprobably Evri delivery.
Once payment is received it usually takes about 3 days todeliver from drop off which I try to do next working day.
