Description
This UHQR (MFQR 1-084) was released by Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab in the Summer of 1983 and remains one of the most impressive sounding titles in the entire series. In fact, so revered is the engineering and production on "I Robot" that Mobile Fidelity had it pressed on regular audiophile [half-speed] vinyl, cassette, CD, and finally their definitive audiophile format....the UHQR. To this day, NOTHING beats this pressing...not even the recent MFSL 2-Lp 45rpm release. If you are properly set up with a decent high-end turntable and cartridge/stylus...you will be blown away by the enormous soundstage, detail, and presence from this pressing.
Record: Near Mint+/-....both sides are visually near perfect. Both matte silver-gray labels are near mint. Side 1 has just a touch of surface noise in the very quiet sections. Side 2 is a solid Near Mint verging on Mint. Absolutely stunning audio.
Box: Excellent+ ~ NM......the top lid has some minor wear to the corners (2 have been expertly repaired) and some very light signs of handling. Bottom lid has no issues.
Technical Specs Manual: Near Mint
Hand-Numbered Certificate: Near Mint
Hand-Numbered Inner-Jacket (black): Near Mint
Protective Fold-Open Inner-Sleeve (White) Near Mint
Protective Foam x2: Mint
