PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question. OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In order to meet that goal, we will ALWAYS work with our customers on any concerns that may arise. In the unlikely instance that you feel the need to open a resolution dispute before working with us, you will immediately be blocked from any further chance to acquire the rare music we present each and every week. Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has became very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback. We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Please give us 5 stars in each category through the feedback system, and we will be able to effectively continue to fulfill your passion for rare and collectible music! Original 1966 first pressing vinyl in true STEREO ~ the stereo song mixes are different from the mono issue and contain speaker seapation in the production ... The very first USA release of the Spencer Davis Group, an R&B beat-rock act and one of the leading British Invasion bands from the mid 60's era...
The Spencer Davis Group, the exciting swinging sounds of mid-1960s British beat rock from Birmingham, England, was formed by Spencer Davis with Steve Winwood and his brother Muff Winwood. Their three best known songs are "Keep On Running", a number one in the UK Singles Chart and "Gimme Some Lovin'" and "I'm a Man" both top chart hits as well..... Upon touring Europe, the group found themselves popular - particularly in Germany where Spencers' fluent use of the language endeared them to the audiences. The follow-up single Somebody Help Me, was not as strong as the previous but still gained another No. 1 position and a Steve Winwood composition released as the group's next A-side, When I Come Home, managed to reach the No. 12 spot. For the next single release the group was pressured by Chris Blackwell to come up with their own material, the result of which was probably largely inspired by Steve Winwood's efforts on his Hammond organ. Gimme Some Loving became an instant classic - reaching No. 2 in the British charts and also gaining much attention in the USA. To this day it remains probably the most instantly recognizable song by the group (note: the record was re-mixed to include extra keys and vocal backing before getting released in the USA). Steve Winwood's growing confidence as performer and songwriter was leading to his dissatisfaction within the group and he began to associate more with other musicians, particularly Dave Mason and Jim Capaldi who was in a Midlands group called Deep Feeling and Chris Wood from the Birmingham band Locomotive. By early 1967, it was clear to most that Steve Winwood had outgrown the Spencer Davis Group and encouraged by Chris Blackwell, he made known his intention to leave after the groups' current tour commitments had been fulfilled. Thus the band Traffic was born.
