If you’ve had those Crusin’ Lps, with DJs and records from the ‘50s and ‘60s, then you might recall having heard the Weird Beard as the DJ on the 1962 recording from KLIF. He as a great late night DJ while in Dallas, and later on moved down to Houston to another McLendon station, KILT.

This single finds him around 1964 and pairs up “T’was A Weird Nite Before Christmas” and “Christmas Sing-A-Long” It says that he’s doing this with the Crazy Cajun, which sounds a lot like Huey Meaux himself. What an odd little bit of Texas radio and records history!
