Description
This is the complete “Genius of Charlie Parker” on the Clef Series of Verve MGV 8005-8010. All six records are on deep groove trumpeter labels, and all playing surfaces are in new condition, with the only exception being MGV 8008, which has an inaudible scuff on the first track of Side B. MGV 8005-8007 and 8010 have yellow labels; MGV 8008-8009 have black labels. The coated frame covers are all in near-new condition – bright, clean and immaculate throughout – with sharp corners and unworn seams, with these exceptions: 8005 has a 2” clean break at the center of the bottom seam, 8008 has a light discoloration at the top right corner of the back, 8009 has ¼” bump at the upper left corner, and 8010 has a 1 ¼” clean break at the center of the bottom seam. 38-page 11” x 11” illustrated “The Charlie Parker Story” is included. Personnel include Kenny Dorham, Miles Davis, Walter Bishop, Thelonious Monk, Charles Mingus, Percy Heath, Max Roach and Roy Haynes. $200.00..
