L'ULTIMA CORRIDA / FRUSCIO DI FOGLIE VERDI ... 7-inch, 45rpm OST single. Music by ENNIO MORRICONE orchestra directed by BRUNO NICOLAI with I CANTORI MODERNI Di ALESSANDRONI and TRIO JUNIOR. Original Italian pressing on ARIETE label (AR 8005) from 1968. Unusual, psychedelic pop and cinematic moods gleamed from the score to Teorema, an important art house film directed by Pier Paolo Pasolini starring Terence Stamp / Silvana Mangano / Laura Betti and Massimo Girotti. Our single arguably features the most desirable theme from the film and Ariete soundtrack Lp. The psych tinged lounge of FRUSCIO Di FOGLIE VERDI is seductive, obsessive and groovy with the counterpoint male voices of Trio Junior harmonizing over gothic harpsichord / fender bass / hypnotic guitars and drum breaks linking each verse ;) Quirky and mysterious sounding with atmospheric wind sound FX blowing in and out of this bewitching arrangement too. Great for DJs. The L'ULTIMA CORRIDA theme is also superb. In essence, more spaghetti western / psychedelic cowboy influenced with amazing scat vocals by the Alessandroni singers and Guido Pistocchi style trumpet riding Nicolai's hypnotic orchestrations. Striking, sexually charged sleeve artwork showing "the visitor" Terence Stamp seducing Silvana Mangano. Rare OST 45!!!
Our record grading: SEALED / M- / VG++ / VG+ / VG
Vinyl is in shiny, strong VG++ condition (closer to M-) with a few hairlines / faint scuffs from sleeve removal. Some light surface noises. One soft pop to fading seconds of the "Fruscio..." side (as you can hear on the soundclip). Superb production sound. The soft card picture sleeve is in strong VG++ condition overall with some ring creasing and light wear from storage. Some edge and corner wear. Some dirt marks and a couple of tiny abrasion marks from storage. Rare OST 45!!!
