Description

An original 1st issue of HOTH on UK Atlantic from 1973. Matrix A2/B2 - 1st cut. Etching "RL Sterling". Please note that the labels are 1st iteration. No perimeter text in the upper half of the label and NO mention of the Warners logo. Well worth going for the earlier copies - they were pressed a good bit heavier. The vinyl comes housed in an original matt gatefold cover printed on heavy card. We also have the original textured inner sleeve [which has been artistically added to!]. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex-) In lovely condition and has only seen light use. Under close inspection I can make out a couple of light marks per side, one slight/small scuffing patch - nothing heavy or troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT level of playback with one deviation. Nice and quiet intros and inbetweens and the audio comes across with excellent clarity. A very entertaining and impressive rendition - not an average copy by any means. HOTH has two incredibly fussy Zeppelin tracks 'Rain' and 'No QTR' - both are very difficult to find playing super clean. But this example is delivering a nice and clean rendition through both. Just a couple of minor ticks early in Rain and an occasional static rustle in the quietest moments of Rain - but this is playing much cleaner than you typically find. A couple of isolated crackles in the super fussy intro to "No QTR" - but, again, much cleaner than you typically find. Overall - there's some exceptional audio on here. Highly recommended. Please note one of the labels has been signed neatly.
Cover (Ex-) Front and rear surfaces look really good with just some light handling [as difficult to avoid]. The interior is looking very nice indeed no issues. Only minor edge wear and sharp openings. The spine is in excellent order with just lightest wear. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity in part thanks to the heavy card employed in manufacture.
Inner (Vg+) Minimal ageing and very tidy. No splits. Bottom corners snipped. Someone has been artistic in the txt.
