Description

An original 1st press of HOTH on the UK Atlantic label. Matrix A2/B3. Stamped "RL Sterling". Please note label design is perfectly consistent with very 1st issue. There's NO Warners logo in the perimeter text and the text does NOT enter the northern hemisphere of the label. The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original matt gatefold cover. Also included is the original textured inner printed by MacNeill in England. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex+) In lovely condition and has only seen light careful use. Under close inspection we could only make out a couple of light marks per side - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT+ level of playback with two slight deviations. Intros and inbetweens are very nice and quiet and the audio comes across with superb clarity. A truly superb player with bags of detail and warmth - there's very little to complain at too. Interference is very minor and infrequent in nature. I couldn't detect more than a couple of crackles in a couple of isolated moments per side. One slight deviation is two clicks in the closing couple of seconds of the track 'Over The Hills'. Then, in "No QTR" , in the very low-key parts, you just get a whiff of some very low-level static briefly [absolutely nothing persistent, or remotely invasive]. How can you not love this album? Zep were  moving into new genres and soundscapes. A classic album and one you really need to insist on a top-level copy for otherwise you're not really going to experience the full effect.
Cover (Ex) In beautiful and looking a lot nicer than many copies that typically surface. Lovely clean and unaged front and back just experiencing some of the lightest handling in a couple of spots. The interior is immaculate - no issues at all. Edge wear is minimal and the openings are still sharp. The spine is 100% intact. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
Inner (Ex) It can sometimes end up looking a bit worse for wear. This example, however, looks superb. It doesn't appear to have been affected by ageing and there are no splits. There's no writing or marks either. Very nice!
